Every great work sooner or later will be the basis for a parody - from Godfather to Citizen Kane and from westerns to sci-fi. The success of Lord of the Rings film adaptation was a momentum that started many different project, some of them good, some of them bad, but at least one of them - ElvenQuest - great!
One of the explanations behind the theory that American government hides the fact that aliens have landed on our planet is that people are not ready for the information that there are other life forms in the universe so mass panic would just burst and put the whole into planet. Of course the explanation is completely bogus - there are no things that would put the WHOLE planet into chaos or standstill. Need a proof? Take Welcome to Our Village, Please Invade Carefully as a guide book.
While Nick Frost is mostly remembered from his projects created together with Simon Pegg (Spaced, Big Train, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Paul, The World’s End) and Matt King is mostly remembered from his part as Super Hans in Peep Show, not many people know that they created together a radio comedy show, entitled The Sofa of Time, that had many of the usual contributors of Frost and Pegg projects and a lot of style of their other works.
After great success of such TV series as Dad’s Army, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum or ’Allo ’Allo it seemed that World War 2 as theme for comedy has run dry - what more can be said about the Blitz, ration books and shouting sergeants? Another approach to war was Then Churchill Said to Me starring Frankie Howerd that made very little impact when finally has premiered. Later Goodnight Sweetheart was pushing the envelope by introducing time travel element, but idea for radio show that takes place during World War 2 seemed like really, really far fetched.
Comedy Series Blog - we search all the interesting (and sometimes not that interesting) comedy series from around the world. Some of them might be slightly better than the others, but in comedy there are no strict rules - sometimes less funny series, but made with skillful touch could be a hit. On the other hand there are series that try too hard to be funny and lose on the plots and characters building.
